Food Detective

Find out if you have food allergies and get to know yourself better.

Because you need to find out if you have allergies.

The world medical literature, for that matter, describes more than 150 signs and symptoms associated with food incompatibility, hypersensitivity or intolerance. With this process in place, we say that the patient is intolerant to a certain food. By excluding food from the diet for a certain time (at least 90 days), treating the intestinal mucosa and restoring the intestinal microflora, food can be reintroduced into the individual's routine, always observing frequency and quantity.

Knowing if you have allergies is a precaution that is necessary for your physical well-being.

What is food intolerance?

Food Intolerance (also known as delayed allergy, food hypersensitivity or type III allergy) consists of non-toxic reactions, which can be caused by foods (protein parts of foods) recognized as foreign by the body, leading to reactions mediated mainly by IgG.

More than 80% of immune reactions originate in the intestine, which guarantee an almost insurmountable barrier against bacteria, viruses and other pathogens.

These foods or substances and/or protein fragments (macromolecules), inflame the intestinal mucosa, increase intestinal permeability,  fall into the circulation and are recognized by the immune system as foreign elements and aggressors.

Types of allergies that the examFood Detectiveis able to detect:

Type I

  • Acute reaction with immediate hypersensitivity. Mediated by IgE antibodies. Immediate allergy, classic allergy.

Type II

  • Presence of IgG antibodies, induces cell destruction. Slow attachment to the cell surface. Cytotoxicity (Cellular toxicity – Cellular intoxication).

Type III

  • Presence of Ag-AC (IgG) immune complexes. Inflammatory response. Late allergies, Food intolerance.

Type IV

  • Presence of memory T lymphocytes. Chronic inflammation. Delayed hypersensitivity. Ex. Metal allergies, Food allergy (Celiac).

know more

Research shows that food intolerance may be associated with elevated IgG antibodies by the immune system when eating certain foods. Under normal circumstances, these antibodies form complexes with food proteins. These complexes are eliminated by our immune system without causing symptoms. If the immune or digestive systems are compromised, these complexes can be deposited in the body, causing inflammation resulting in a wide range of symptoms such as fatigue, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), bloating, migraines or obesity. Thus, our organism perceives food as a “problematic” food. Symptoms can last for many days and are usually intermittent, making it difficult to identify the foods your body cannot tolerate. Food intolerance should not be confused with food allergy.
